Margot Bartsch | Educational Consultant
Margot Bartsch's career started out as an ESL Teacher, then she worked for many years as a National Program Director for an International Education organization. More recently she worked as VP of Business Development for a resort system. With an extensive background in Education, Margot is thrilled to work with families and students to put together an individual plan for academic and personal success. Personally, she has been involved in a number of international outreaches and enjoys being able to merge her love of making a difference with her work, so that she can have a positive impact on students.

Laureen Andreas | Educational Consultant
Laureen has many years experience helping students accomplish their goals. She has a Masters Degree in Teaching ESL and her work experience includes; 15 years international program coordination and teaching, overseeing the elementary and middle school international students for a private school, years of teaching experience from elementary to high school levels, and currently serving as an Educational Advisor for Relate College. Laureen has helped many students gain entrance to prestigious universities and supported learning differences and challenges with creative solutions and strategies. Laureen is passionate about education and helping students realize their potential.

Chad Pickering | Educational Consultant
Chad is a certified teacher who has over ten years experience teaching children from Kindergarten through Gr. 12. He is currently teaching in the Chilliwack District School Board and previously worked in the District School Board of Niagara, in Southern Ontario. Chad also has a specialist in Guidance education and enjoys working with students and families to get the very best, both academically and socially, out of his students. As a father of two young boys, he knows full well the challenges that face working parents and understands how a little help can relieve stress for everyone!

Ruth Grant | Educational Consultant
Ruth is a Registered Professional Counselor with a Master Practitioner in Counseling Psychology Designation and has several years experience working with families, singles and youth. In recent years, she has worked extensively with women in transition and recovery. She brings her passion for supporting families to her work as an Education Consultant. As mother of two adult children, Ruth understands the challenges many students face achieving the academic outcome required to accomplish their career goals. She will tell you that one-on-one tutors were the key to helping her two children complete thier educational goals!

Doug manages the financial end of Tutor Doctor - Fraser Valley and supports customers in any accounts questions or needs they may have. Doug’s background includes personnel and company management, aviation, transportation, and general operations. Doug is passionate about looking after people and doing things the best way possible.

Elise Goertz | Office Manager
Elise Goertz has been with Tutor Doctor-Fraser Valley, since 2009. In addition to a degree in Business and Psychology, her work experience includes Crisis Counseling, Client Care, Marketing, and Volunteer Coordination for Abbotsford Community Services. These experiences give her a strong background in people care and support. Elise works with tutors, families and students to provide the support necessary to achieve academic success. She understands that communication, collaboration, and hard work are what make us successful. Elise coordinates the work of the Tutor Doctor Team to provide quality support for students’ individual goals so they can be mentored to success.

Stacey Cody | Student Support Coordinator
Stacey has worked as a Board of Education Trustee with the Langley School District, a Manager, Program Officer, Employment Training Coach and Instructor. She looks after our families and their students to provide ongoing support and care. With her wide range of administrative positions, leadership skills and love for education, she helps students get the tools and support they need to succeed. Having worked in our educational system for some time she is familiar with the challenges and needs of students and their families and works to ensure that they are well looked after while continuing to actively work in the education community to create a better educational experience for all our students.

Sara Rachelle | Administration
Sara provides daily support to the Tutor Doctor – Fraser Valley office in the areas of general office admin support and receptionist duties. She is likely the cheery voice you will hear when you phone in. She has worked as a promoter, tutor, administrator, and in customer service. She has also done an internship in India and outreach to a small community in Uganda. Sara cares about making a difference in the world and is very interested in international development.

About 10 years ago, John Hooi had a simple idea and a desire to make a difference. He wondered why parents had to adjust their family’s busy schedules and drive half way across town just to put their child in another classroom with more kids…when in fact it was the classroom experience that their child was struggling with in the first place. Over the last 10 years, the Tutor Doctor vision has taken shape. In 2003 the company turned to franchising as a way of expanding the company’s impact and meeting the vast market demand.
Now with offices internationally, the Tutor Doctor vision is becoming a reality as the lives of students and their families are being positively impacted. Tutor Doctor provides affordable one-on-one supplementary education to students and adults through offering in-home tutoring to families.
We actively serve students in Surrey, Langley, Abbotsford, Mission, Chilliwack and surrounding areas.
